Dongyuan Xiantang Landfill Gas Power Generation Phase I Project
The Dongyuan Xiantang Landfill Gas Power Generation Phase I Project is a landfill gas recovery and power generation project in Heyuan City, Guangdong Province, China. The project captures landfill gas, which is primarily composed of methane, a potent greenhouse gas, and uses it to generate electricity for the China Southern Power Grid. By preventing the release of methane, a potent greenhouse gas, and displacing fossil fuel-generated electricity, the project delivers significant emissions reductions. It also improves landfill safety, reduces odour, enhances local air quality and creates employment opportunities, contributing to both environmental sustainability and community wellbeing.
