For Cause vs Post Incident testing
‘For Cause’ testing is drug & alcohol screening that is undertaken when a manager or company believes that a colleague may be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. It is a preventative measure.
‘Post Incident’ refers to testing that is done immediately following an incident that caused harm, or had the potential to cause harm, as a form of investigation.
The key differences between these types of testing is what triggers them, but the process for these tests are identical.

The choice between using laboratory-analysed testing or point-of-care testing for your For Cause drug tests depends on your circumstances and the legislation or governing bodies of your industry.
How does it work?
A team member is suspected of being under the influence OR an incident occurs that caused harm of had the potential to cause harm.
The colleague or colleagues in question is removed from duty, but kept on site.

A collector arrives to the client site within 2 hours
A sample is collected and either tested on site (if using POCTS) or sent to our accredited laboratory.
